You see her without the makeup, she's a little thick. When the studios don't have a hold of her, she isn't the most attractive. On her videos, she's striking. She's dangerously beautiful. Her voice, tho. That's what does it. It's like Beth Gibbons from Portishead. Not the most stunning of women physically, but I'll be damned if she doesn't have one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard.

Daeron763: You know that whole "Teenage Angst/I Hate My Parents/Let's Band Together and Hate the World" music genre?
militantslave: spank rock?
Daeron763: Yeah. I don't think I'm really into it
militantslave: what made you realize this?
Daeron763: Well, I'm listening to Launch, and this song comes on where the singer is singing about how "We are the bastards you created... we hate you and we're mutilated... blah blah blah." You know, it just doesn't do anything for me. Wallowing in angst, rage and self-piyt
militantslave: well sorta weird.. they are making money off of helping other people wallow and be unproductive
militantslave: very capatilistic of them
Daeron763: I'm proud
Daeron763: disgusted but proud
Daeron763: got a story to tell you
militantslave: but yeah... terrible music
militantslave: go tell it on the mountain
Daeron763: definitely
Daeron763: hahahah
militantslave: tell the story beyotch
Daeron763: I'm sitting and waiting for an interview last Sunday, when a young man sits down a seat or two away and starts to share his tremendous knowledge with a young woman sitting between us about how tremendous it is to have a national debt and how it really is good for our nation.
Daeron763: He continued on to share his feelings that if only third-world nations had better national debts, they would be better off
Daeron763: He talked about how we need to find ways that they can have cars and TV's and refrigerators and that these were the signs of progress
Daeron763: He quoted Adam Smith and various other gurus of capitalism to back his position
Daeron763: I tore his head off
militantslave: GOOD...
militantslave: because at the very least this kid should know that tv isn't good
Daeron763: Little fucker
militantslave: what was your argument?
militantslave: receiving!
Daeron763: That Tv's and Honda's and The Bachelorette were not universal signs of progress, but rather byproducts of a society obsessed with consumerism, that God was not a capitalist, that democracy was only a means to a much higher end, and that if he would only get his head out of his ass, he would see that the Western World did not have a corner market on truth, happiness and cultural beauty.
Daeron763: In fact, it's falling by the wayside in our world because we are so obsessed with the pursuit of "things," that consumption is becoming an end unto itself in our society. Rather than holding ourselves up to be the light on the hill because of our capitalistic greed, we should be more concerned with sharing our wealth than hording it.
Daeron763: Capitalism is inherently self-destructive. You have to constantly create new markets, new consumers, new buyers, and as it spreads those on the fringe are always reaping the smallest benefits. Look back to the earliest days of the American colonies, where we had to do all the raw manufacturing in order to purchase the "luxury goods" England, while they were taxing us out of house and home.
Daeron763: And we had it good, while the Crown raped such countries as India and drove China into an opium crazed depression while stealing all their precious metals out from under them.
militantslave: beautiful
Daeron763: The vast majority of wars we have fought in the last two hundred years have not been about maintaining freedom for oppressed people. They have been about keeping our sphere of influence spreading and maintaining a foothold in burdgeoning markets. As long as our interests were maintained, we weren't concerned about sacrificing a Guatamala or maintaining a ruthless Shah in Iran. We were getting our oil and cocoa beans and our companies were getting their debts repaid. Life is good
Daeron763: Except it isn't
militantslave: and how did this small fuck respond?
Daeron763: I'm not a communist or some neo-nazi fascist. I believe that capitalism is probably the best form of economy that the world has going at the moment and democracy is pretty much the same in the political arena.
militantslave: see i agree with you... democ and capitl. are the best we have for now
Daeron763: But they are certainly not the end-all be-all ultimate expression of divine governance this little fuck-stick was making them out to be. If any thing they are the worst forms of government and economy -- except all the others.
militantslave: but they are definitely not the end all be all of gov and economy
militantslave: haha... that is a little too much coincidence
Daeron763: His response was to back off and back off and try and save face while turning corner after corner, changing his views, obfuscating, and overall just little very stupid
Daeron763: whoah, that was crazy!
militantslave: "fuck stick" very very well said
Daeron763: "looking" very stupid, not "little" very stupid.
Daeron763: Thank you
militantslave: so your solution to said greivance with the system?
Daeron763: I lost your last two comments. My browser closed on me
Daeron763: Anything you said after I last posted
militantslave: militantslave: so your solution to said greivance with the system?
Daeron763: Well, I think that capitalism can work, and it should work with democracy at the helm, but I think as a society we need to change our values. We need to stop being so obsessed with aquiring items and consuming them upon our lusts, so to speak
Daeron763: We need to take the tremendous power, energy, and advantage God has given us and share it with the rest of hte world.
Daeron763: On their terms
militantslave: their terms... very important
Daeron763: Fighting wars to protect our interests is not a bad thing, but starting wars to protect them is
militantslave: yeah changing the precedent on when it is ok to use force is very dangerous
Daeron763: Saddam was a dick, he killed his own people, and he was fucking up our program in the middle east, no question, but, we still didn't have the right to go in to that country and take over
Daeron763: I absolutely agree with you.
militantslave: at the very least in this last situation we should've had international approval of some kind
Daeron763: The real trick is for our society to become more magnanamous, more interested in helping others, more focussed on living a better life instead of trying to keep up with the Joneses. There is no real happiness in that anyway
Daeron763: I'm not saying we need to live the lives of ascetics
Daeron763: But we do need to focus more on experiences and sacrifice than on buying and getting bigger, better, faster, more
Daeron763: There's nothing evil about being the best and staying on top. But if that is the only thing in our lives, we've got a screwed up set of priorities
Daeron763: and besides, we're slipping bigtime, and it's because we are so damn greedy and weak, not because we are strong.
militantslave: i totally agree with all this... but... the question i always ask myself... is how do you get others to join in on this?
Daeron763: I think the first key is to be the best example of how you want the world to be. Be the change you want to see in the world, as some wise man once said. When others see how good your life is, they will want to emulate it.
Daeron763: The next is to find a career that actively promotes equality among people, universal human rights, and economic stability. And then fight tooth and nail for the changes you feel are most important. You can't change the world from today until tomorrow, but you can change your world every moment by your actions and decisions
Daeron763: America is the greatest country the world has ever seen. It was founded on principles that God inspired the Founding Fathers to espouse, and it stands today at the height of its power. Never has there ever been a nation with greater power and influence than us today, and we show no signs of stopping
Daeron763: But we have a responsibility to take that power and extend the blessings that we have to others, or that power will be taken from us by those who seek to destroy us and we will be held accountable before the giver of all things for the complacency in which we have lived our lives.
Daeron763: OK, I'm going to stop before someone starts to scream "SERMON!"
militantslave: well amen
militantslave: i enjoyed that
militantslave: spank rock?
Daeron763: Yeah. I don't think I'm really into it
