It was the Orioles vs. the Red Sox at Camden Yards. True to form, the Sox lost 4-1. Ortiz knocked one out for the Sox with 2 down in the ninth, but it was too little too late. Beautiful weather though. Good seats. Good company (all family). Good times. Posted by Hello

A Dearth of Postings

Seriously, way tooo long since my last post.

Not too much has happened since I last posted. The plodding juggernaut of law school prep continues. I've seen a bunch of movies, read a couple books and been on a few dates with women I have no desire to spend money on in the future.

One thing I've learned and can hopefully retain: it's all in my head. All of it. All the real problems, all the real struggles, all the real anguish and pain. Sure life has its ups and downs, but it's all in the way we deal with it, and the way we deal with it depends on how we see it, and how we see it depends on how we choose to frame it. The physical world is the dominant frame. It affects everything, everything we think and feel. But only in mastering the mind, heart, and soul can I ever hope to shape the world around me.

I have an obsessive mind. I fixate and focus on things to the exclusion of much of the rest of reality. This can be a talent, an edge over the competition if you will, when it is channeled in the right paths. However, it can also be a painful and destructive force when allowed to run free in my mind in social and emotional spheres.

Life has its challenges. But making life good is all about perspective. It's all about personal choice, self-discipline and controlling the wild horse that is your mind. Purpose-Progress-Peace-Perspective.
